MOTS-C is a 16-amino-acid mitochondrial-derived peptide studied as an exercise mimetic via AMPK activation. 5-Amino-1MQ is a small-molecule NNMT inhibitor studied in metabolic-research literature. They appear together in cellular-energy and metabolic-flexibility study designs because the underlying mechanisms (mitochondrial signalling versus NAD+ salvage pathway regulation) are distinct.
