How to store Semax
Practical storage protocol for Semax: temperature, light, reconstitution timing, and shelf life in a research setting.
Lyophilised (freeze-dried) storage
Unreconstituted Semax, like most research peptides, is stable when stored in its original sealed vial at -20°C for long-term storage. For short-term use (under 3 months), refrigeration at 2-8°C is acceptable. The vial must be protected from direct light and moisture.
Peptify dispatches Semax in temperature-tolerant packaging from the UK, usually arriving within 24-48 hours of dispatch.
After reconstitution
Once Semax is reconstituted with bacteriostatic water (BAC water, 0.9% benzyl alcohol), the solution should be stored at 2-8°C (refrigerated) and used within 28 days. Bacteriostatic water's preservative system inhibits microbial growth for roughly four weeks after first puncture — significantly longer than sterile water, which must be used immediately.
Avoid freeze-thaw cycles. Never leave the vial at room temperature for extended periods, and keep it in its original rubber-stoppered vial to minimise contamination risk.
Shelf life and quality verification
Peptify publishes a batch-specific expiry date on every Semax COA, alongside HPLC chromatogram data and mass spectrometry confirmation. The full Certificate of Analysis for your specific batch is downloadable from the product page.

Frequently asked questions
What is Semax researched for?
Semax is studied for cognitive enhancement, neuroprotection, and attention improvement. It upregulates BDNF and NGF, supporting neuroplasticity.
Is Semax often combined with Selank?
Yes. Semax and Selank target complementary pathways (cognition and anxiety respectively). Peptify offers a pre-blended Selank + Semax 20mg vial.
