P21: Research, Benefits & UK Availability
A synthetic peptide derived from CNTF researched for neurogenic and nootropic properties, focusing on neurogenesis and cognitive enhancement.
Every Peptify P21 batch is independently HPLC-tested by Janoshik Analytical (Czech Republic) and ships with the batch-matched Certificate of Analysis.
What is P21?
**Neurogenesis research.** P21 is the engineered CNTF-derived peptide characterised for blood-brain barrier permeability and targeted neurotrophic activity within the central nervous system — a hippocampal neurogenesis focus that distinguishes it from full-length CNTF in the published research literature.
Research has examined neural progenitor cell proliferation in the dentate gyrus, dendritic branching, synaptic plasticity, spatial learning, and memory consolidation. Cognitive decline model work has investigated tau phosphorylation, neuroinflammation, and neuronal survival as a separate published research axis.

How to Store P21
Unreconstituted (Lyophilised Powder)
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. For long-term storage, keep refrigerated at 2–8°C. Under these conditions, lyophilised peptides can remain stable for up to 24 months. For extended preservation beyond 24 months, store at -20°C in a freezer.
Reconstituted (Mixed with BAC Water)
Once reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, the peptide solution must be refrigerated at 2–8°C. Use within 4–6 weeks for optimal potency. Do not freeze reconstituted peptides as this may degrade the compound.
General Tips
Always keep vials upright to prevent leakage. Avoid repeated temperature fluctuations — do not leave vials out at room temperature for extended periods. Protect from light exposure by storing in the original packaging or a dark container. Label all vials with the reconstitution date.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is P21?
P21 is derived from Ciliary Neurotrophic Factor. It is researched for stimulating neurogenesis (new neuron growth) and enhancing cognitive function.
